I suspect that it will be just like the R-EOS situation: aperture priority and manual focus. All of the latter, love it. Impressions are similar to yours. One thing though, it may be that not all Pentax lenses will work with the *ist D. Some may only work at max aperture - at least the pre-A lenses (those with a mechanical connection only - no electrical contacts). I ~could~ be wrong, because I've been mostly ignoring the digital threads on pdml, not giving a rat's you-know-what about a body that I won't be able to afford for a while.
