The two cameras with the huge files simply aren't practical for most real world newspaper and magazine shooting - the storage demands are ludicrous, the resolution is way beyond what's needed. Keep in mind the Nikon D1H - and the new D2H - are 4 mgp cameras. The D1X is a 5, the D100, which is plenty good for many pros is a 5, the EOS1D is either 4 or 5 - the D10 is 6, etc. etc. So as Mark is pointing out, don't make the mistake of confusing file size with "pro" v. "prosumer" cameras. BTW - the distinction is really pretty silly, in that there are plenty of pros using cameras that would be called prosumer, and plenty of 'sumers using "pro" cameras. In fact, I would define a "pro" camera as: Any camera used by a professional photographer in his or her work. B. D. - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
