I believe that case was not lasik but radial keratotomy (done by radial cuts on the cornea surface using microtomes - the 1st generation of correction developed by the Russians). I've had Lasik about 5 years ago. So far so good and it beats glasses or contacts particularly if one like to travel off the beaten path. Regards Spencer PS. Make REALLY REALLY sure your surgeon has a lot of experience. 10,000 pair of eyes is a good starting point and don't go for the cheapest price. The cheap ones have to skimp somewhere. Maintenance cost for the lasers is about $150K per year so there is a lot of overhead. - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
