It's fun to explain to him when he asks, "Now my pictures are going to be much better than with my old Minolta, huh dad?" It makes me think of my own reasons for using Leicas. Everyone should have a 9 year old son that's just like they were when they were 9! :) Randy www.randyjensenphoto.com - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us]On Behalf Of bdcolen Sent: Thursday, July 31, 2003 7:46 AM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: RE: [Leica] Re: Digital throwaways But it is certainly going directly back to the original Kodak commercialization of photography - take the photos and send in the camera...;-) And what some people never seem to get is that their most important photographic tool lies between their ears - not in a box with a red dot on it.... - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us] On Behalf Of LRZeitlin@aol.com Sent: Thursday, July 31, 2003 10:28 AM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: [Leica] Re: Digital throwaways <<i don't get it - how can digital cameras be disposable? surely they would make a way for the lab to clear the images and then resell these things for USD $11 to the next unsuspecting tourist :) if this takes off, the future of film doesn't look too bright :(>> That's just the point. You merely RENT the camera from the dealer, return it, and receive your pics. The camera memories are erased and the camera is rented again. Even some parts of throwaway film cameras are recycled. What you are buying is the prints. The nature of the camera is irrelevant. How totally unLeica like!
