If you're going on a trip ... pick up a good meter ... unless you can redo
the trip.

I never got that forumula down pat (alkaline in a mercury instrument). Go
out on a sunny 16 day and see what reading it gives you, then adjust the
exposure index until you get ASA/16.

But don't trust it. Pick up a handheld meter.
