Leica's new parts policy ---- ><Snip> A distinction should be made between what you have with you and what you've left at home/studio. If your body and two lenses that you've got on you is the sum of your gear - to each his own. But I don't see any reason to extol this mindset. It is far more flexible and workable to have the bodies and lenses you have with you not represent the sum of all year gear: but a subset. Its nice to have resources if you can afford them of if you value them to aquire them even if you can't. For when you get in that "other" mood or have that "other" kind of subject matter to shoot or you've "other" wise taken a different approach to your photography: some resources are nice to have. I have just about all the focal lengths at this point and some of them I'm doubled up on. To some that would seem an embarrassment of riches. I have a choice as I leave for a day's walk on a weekend's day if I'll have on my camera a 21 or a 135, a 24 or a 90. Seldom will i carry a second lens. I don't want the feeling that I've got the situation covered. I just want the feeling that I can get it from this one choice angle which I've got burned in my minds eye for that day.
