Jim - If you are talking about the little steel spring that holds the slide in place as it enters or leaves the scanner, I have replaced that a couple of times myself. I got Nikon to fax me an exploded view of the scanner and parts and picked out the spring part # from the drawing. It is part number #6K240-075-1. It's only about $5, unlike most Leica parts! I managed to bend a couple of these while trying to use different slide mounts. Since I've been using only Gepe mounts, I haven't had any problem with bending the little spring again.
