This was because you were really getting camera with more brass in it with titanium paint. Call it a brass camera. Really nice titanium paint though. Not just sprayed on with a Krylon can but done in a vacuum by x pearl divers who can hold thier breath for a shift. And I'm really fond of brass and will sometimes put up with the extra wight to be able to work with it. It has a better ring for me than aluminum but so far in my Leica gear the aluminum has one over. And I guess there's Zinc in there too. At one point CameraWorld was all out of 35 Summicron Asph black and wanted to sell me a silver or chrome one at the same price. What a deal! Picking it up if felt like it was taken out of the center of a black hole. How did they put so much heaviness into such a cute little lens? I wanted to know. I just remember that episode of Superman when he takes that coal and squeezes it real hard and makes a big diamond out of it. That's the vibe i got off of this chrome lens. It would be nice of Leica really and cut some pieces out of titanium and came out with a titanium camera, which would have been a bit lighter than the regular. As Olympus, Nikon and other companies had set a precent in doing. It would be real nice to have this option. Lying is always going to be bad for PR.
