That reminds me. When I was a photo editor at a newspaper in the midwest, I remember every once in a while, seeing AP photos by Nick UT coming out of Los Angeles where he worked for the AP. The most memorable was a couple dancing in a fountain trying to stay off the heat during a heat wave. In fact, most of his photos that I remember which I saw while working as a newspaper photo editor were happy snap feature type photos. That's NOT meant as a criticism of Mr. UT, but more a criticism of the kinds of photos some editors seem to think readers want to see. Good hard-hitting photojournalism is much harder to do - and expensive.
