I love the fuji 800 color print film.... the press 400 might be something to look into. B&W wise, I am bringing a roll or two of the 3200 TMAX for the actual wedding (thankfully they didn't assume i would shoot their wedding - this happens more than i like), but will probably bring along a few rolls of the B&W kodak 400CN (or the T-400... whatever they call it now). I think I will pick up some rolls of that the Portra and shoot that this week and see how I like that. here are a few other items: 1. being that the M6 doesn't have a self-timer (ugh), i was thinking of picking up one of those little mechanical jobbies that has a built in timer and fires the shutter for you. Any recommendations for those things? Found a few on EBay that I might buy. I would like to have at least one picture of my wife and I. 2. i forget who it was, but there was a whole digital thread a few days back and someone included a link to a past post where they had reviewed the Minolta Dimage Film Scanner... I just bought one and I have to say their review was right on the money. It was the one that I was thinking of buying, and the review here on LUG sealed the deal. cheers, rich buchanan brooklyn ny full from dinner - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us]On Behalf Of Don Dory Sent: Monday, July 14, 2003 10:01 PM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: RE: [Leica] LUG newbie going to Scotland with M6TTL - is it really *that* cloudy? Hello and welcome to the LUG, Rich: I'm going to throw a somewhat counter proposal to you. Fuji is offering their press film at really cheap prices. Here in Atlanta you can purchase twenty rolls of the press 400 for $50. This is the four layer stuff and it looks good on paper and scanned. Unless you intentionally want lower contrast images that the Portray or NHG offers this is the ticket. It will give you similar images that you are used to with Reala with two stops more speed. I believe the major internet outlets have similar pricing; B&H, Calumet, Unique to name a few. My feeling is that the film stock is not as important as having enough to free you to keep pushing the shutter until you have nailed the image. 0.02 Don dorysrus@mindspring.com - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us] On Behalf Of rich Sent: Monday, July 14, 2003 7:12 PM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: [Leica] LUG newbie going to scotland with M6TTL - is it really *that* cloudy?
