It is near about 10K south of the exit to Dingle if you are driving the Ring clockwise. At Port MacGee there is a nice interpretive center for the Skellig Islands and you can hire a fisherman to take you out to Skellig Michael, a early Christian hermitage/monastic site. As you cross the bridge to Valentia Island you can see a small islet a few hundred meters to the south where I spent some time digging up old saints in 1992. Knightstown was the European terminus of the first Atlantic Telegraph Cable. There is a small museum there. There is a small cafe that is the westernmost cafe in Europe. In October you will find few tourists in Dingle than in high season. You will probably be the only visitors in Knightstown.
