But, lurking really isn't in my nature, so I figured I'd get the intro out of the way, probably stay quiet for a while, and post more frequently as time goes on (assuming I stick around <vbg>). I'm new to the Leica world, having purchased my first last summer, a CL with Summicron C 40mm (I know, I know, body made in Japan by Minolta, but it may be the closest I ever come to owning a "real" Leica <g>). I love the little fellow, and although I'm not good at it yet, I've been using it to try to hone my street photography skills (such as they are). I was quite happy to learn that all those things I've heard about Leica lenses over the years are true - at least with regard to this little fellow. It is absolutely the sharpest lens I've ever used - period. Most of my other equipment is older, and mostly Pentax. An MX, several Spotmatics, a Yashica Electro 35, a Yashica Mat. Not much, but I have fun with it all. My financial situation being not the healthiest right now, there are no imminent equipment purchases, but I would like to pick up an Elmar C 90mm to go with the CL, someday. I've heard good things about that lens, too. So, Hi, and I guess I'll get to know y'all over the next few weeks or so! cheers, frank Toronto, Canada (SARS capital of the Western World) - -- "What a senseless waste of human life" - -The Customer in Monty Python's Cheese Shop sketch - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
