Unless you buy a recently, fully-serviced thread-mount camera, you can be looking at several hundred dollars of service to have a reliable camera going into the future. You will then have a camera whose array of available lenses is severely limited and unable to use ANY of the best lenses Leitz and Leica have produced for the last almost 50 years, except the few most recent - and expensive - Leica throwbacks. Buy a recently serviced M2 or M4 or, given the drop in prices since the intro of the M7 and MP, a good user M6 classic. Welcome to the happy - if sometimes contentious - world of Leica RF and good luck.
