The other good news is lens compatibility back to the late 40's; at least that is when the Zeiss screw mount was used on an East German SLR. Even better news is that the price point will be near $1000 US. Boy, I bet all of you that tried repairing lenses with sledge0matic will be sorry now. ;) Don dorysrus@mindspring.com - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us] On Behalf Of Felix Lopez de Maturana Sent: Wednesday, June 25, 2003 2:51 PM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: [Leica] RE: Re: Leica R-Digital Back > News from the Leica Users Forum: > > >Leica today announced officially that they > >will offer a digital back for the R9/R8 in 2004. > > > >It will cost ca. 4500 Euro and it will be offered at the > >Photokina in 2004. I sincerely believe that ending 2004, probably, some manufactures will be launching affordable digital SLR full format (24x36mm) sensors with 10/14 mpixels...late, too late! Kind regards Felix PS In a couple of months a really big Japan company will offer a "consumer" DSLR at a incredible price. With the price a Leica back you'll be able to buy not less than three of this cameras. Quality? Just enough! At least enough for many thousand of users. - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
