I'd ask the lab you're using. I tend to shoot a lot of frames at a wedding (1,000 has been about normal), and am _not_ interested in putting a lot of effort into proofing. Contact sheets don't work well with parents of the bride/groom.

The lab I've been using does their best work with Kodak's Portra films, so that's what I've been shooting. B&W is on the chromagenic stuff so I can get 4x6 proofs made easily. I just found someone locally who can develop true B&W film, proof and scan for about the same price I've been paying my lab across the country. His preference is Fuji.

I'd avoid the consumer-grade stuff personally, as you're going to want low contrast for the bride-in-white and groom-in-black photos. Fuji makes nice stuff as well -- Reala is wonderful for a 100 ASA film; NPH and NHG II have huge followings.

Make sure you take some groupings with all of the family and important people. Your couple may prefer B&W, but their parents may prefer color. Shoot to please both. Don't be afraid to use shutter speeds low enough to capture the ambient light. You probably will be using your flash more than you normally do -- an external battery pack helps a ton, but lithium batteries are better than alkaline if you're not going the external route.

There are advantages to medium format for this kind of work. Like fill flash at 1/500s when you're shooting portraits/formals outdoors.
