That's because you didn't go wide enough ! Have you tried a 24mm or wider ? Your subjects wouldn't suspect they are in the photo, even though they are substabtial enough on the film, as long as they are not in the middle of it. In order to make maximum use, you really have to stand about 2-3meters from them. They're great for environmental portraits (showing a person in their occupation).
