Well, I can see risking ones life for a shot no one has ever gotten, or
a shot that will change history - but risking your life for something
that you can buy as a postcard? That strikes me as a too much risk for
far too little return...:-)

Pretty much the same result that Alastair (and thousands of
others) got. Only bigger! Cuz it's 4x5!

You can walk up and down the rim as much as you want. There
is only one shot.

Actually, the spot is not that scary. The worst is when the wind is
blowing up the face of the drop, in gusts.

And, consider this: if you are hand-holding an SLR with an ultra-wide
lens, you might be tempted, while still looking through the viewfinder,
to take "one little step closer" - over the edge! At least with a
tripod, that risk is reduced.

Oh yeah, don't forget about the evil, mythical creature that hides under
the drop, waiting for you to lean over, so it can reach up, grab your
belt (or collar), and pull you over.
