You are missing something, and coming close to insulting Tina with your remark about "a little convenience and instant gratification." The money Tina saves on film, and the time she saves processing film and scanning it with the auto feeder Nikon that she has used for years now, will pay for her new 1Ds long before it becomes obsolete.
