I may be missing something, but aren't we talking one-half stop? - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us] On Behalf Of Don Dory Sent: Monday, April 28, 2003 6:38 PM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: Re: [Leica] C/V 35mm F1.2 B.D., No, the new C/V 35 F1.2 is not as sharp and not nearly as contrasty as the Leica 35 1.4 ASPH. It is however, very resistant to flare, see http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=1347548&size=lg I am shooting directly into spot lights with not a sign of flare. And I think that the lens is that proverbial "sharp enough". I'm not sure though that the extra third stop is worth selling your existing lens which is probably better as I don't think you will get much more than $1200 for a used ASPH and that is about what several members are selling this lens for. As for someone looking to buy a new 35 and size isn't especially important then I think C/V is going to sell a whole lot of these lenses.
