No, the new C/V 35 F1.2 is not as sharp and not nearly as contrasty as the
Leica 35 1.4 ASPH.  It is however, very resistant to flare, see

I am shooting directly into spot lights with not a sign of flare.  And I
think that the lens is that proverbial "sharp enough".  I'm not sure though
that the extra third stop is worth selling your existing lens which is
probably better as I don't think you will get much more than $1200 for a
used ASPH and that is about what several members are selling this lens for.
As for someone looking to buy a new 35 and size isn't especially important
then I think C/V is going to sell a whole lot of these lenses.
