Erik,

My experience with high-speed slide films (e.g. Fujichrome 1600) is 
pretty poor. I cannot imagine that Provia 400F (which is an excellent 
film) would yield particularly satisfactory results pushed two stops. If 
I were you, I would consider using a colour negative film or, if you 
must have slides, Agfa Scala B&W slide film, which can be pushed at 
least to 800 with good results.
