My basic B&W film is Fuji Acros, but as the light dims, I happily move on to Ilford Delta 400 and then Fuji Neopan 1600. If you limit yourself to just one film, especially a slow one, then you will either lose some pictures or have to use flash, which I think is detrimental to portraits (unless we are talking studio etc.).
