If all you are looking for is "family grab shots", why spend extra $$$ on
5mp? Are you going to blow the images up past 8x10's? Do you need full
control on "grab shots"?

Olympus has 2 new Stylus digital cameras, the 300 and 400, 3mp and 4mp
cameras. They are the first advertised "weatherproof" digital cameras.
Prices are $399 and $499. Leaves extra $$$ for the bigger XD cards you will
want. The cameras are quick too, none of the slow lag times anymore. Cameras
are small, just like the 35mm Stylus line.

To stay on topic, Leica has the new 3mp camera coming soon. Or consider
Canon's S230 3mp camera. Very compact.

Do you really want to spend $1000 on a digital compact that as we speak is
in the planning of being discontinued?
