However, the only clue Stephen provides (presumably because there was no info in the data supplied to him) is that "earlier" black M4s were enamel, while "later" ones were black chrome. 1,225,0XX dates from 1969. Later on the same page, he has black M4 Mots, which were all apparently enamel finish. The last numbers for these are 1,274,100. This would *suggest* that 1,225,0XX would be enamel, not chrome. Do you not have an opportunity to ask the seller what the finish is? As for value, you'll have to ask someone with the latest edition of the Leica pocket priceguide.
