I have a Polaroid Sprint scan 4000, actually it's the third one I have had in two years, a brand new one, a replacement while they, Polaroid, tried to figure out what was wrong with the first one. Then a third replacement, brand new, well OK they told me it was new..... and at this moment I'm as open to buying a Nikon Coolscan or other scanner pumping 4000 or higher than I've ever been. Hell this wreck is going in the garbage with a big sign... "dangerous to your life it's a Polaroid Sprintscan 4000!" This Polaroid Sprintscan 4000 is one great big heap of scrap metal and glass, without question, an expensive piece of JUNK! :-( Certainly a piece of gear I'd not recommend anyone buying no matter how well it worked when it was working! Why? Well it was unworking far more than it was working and when one is in the business of earning their keep with photography and the hardware that goes with it, cameras, scanners or whatever, it's totally un-acceptable to be trying to do your work that your life is dedicated to while attempting to do that with constant failure of equipment. Expensive equipment! Surely I can't be the only human on the planet with the grief this company has caused me with their lousy equipment that works some times and most times not. Yep they were kind enough to replace the first and the second, but what's the point of having malfunctioning equipment replaced with just another piece of malfunctioning equipment ? I'm wide open for suggestions as you may well figure. :-( Or would you really like to hear how I feel? ;-) ted - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
