In any case, I'm wondering whether what you describe, by itself, would really matter. That is to say, once you've established a correct exposure, as long as opening the aperture one whole stop while doubling the shutter speed (e.g., from 1/250 to 1/500) maintains a correct exposure indication, and as long as closing the aperture one whole stop while decreasing the shutter speed by half (e.g., from 1/250 to 1/125) also maintains a correct exposure, then why should it matter what degree of deflection from the correct exposure indication (i.e., centered needle) may result from changing either the aperture or the shutter speed? On the other hand, if the combination of any aperture change with what should be the countervailing shutter speed change were not to maintain a correct exposure indication, that would call the metering into question, and I'd certainly have it checked out. And I found that the metering finger moves more when I change shutter speed than I change the aperture. Does anybody know about this question?
