Jon Cone says it will be substantially cheaper than the original Piezography. It will be available for Canon printers so the print heads can be exchanged and one printer used for both B&W and color. Here is what Jon has announced about the new system: PiezographyBW for Canon will be released on the following printers: s950i, s900, s9000, s830, s820, s800, BJC-8200. The cost of a system with 6 ink cartridges, a library of ICC profiles and 20 sheets of ass't paper is $195. There is much discussion all the time on the Digital B&W e-mail list about creating curves and workflows to work with the different inks. It takes a lot of time, ink and paper to come up with the different curves. They are listed on the Digital B&W Yahoo site. People keep experimenting because Piezography is so expensive and some printers clog with the inks. The general consensus, after years of experimenting, is that Piezography still gives better results than anything else. You might want to wait and get already worked out profiles and inks.
