Skip,

There obviously is no parallax correction when using the extents of the
built-in viewfinder.  It's the framelines that provide the parallax
correction.

Do you believe what you say because the viewfinder may be (I don't have a
24mm auxiliary finder to measure) slightly closer to the center of the lense
than the auxiliary finder?

The auxiliary finder will only be off in one direction, up/down, where the
built-in viewfinder will be off in both directions.
