Yes I noticed my TTL had considerably less power consumption than 
yours. Could yours have the "early" circuit board that had many power 
consumption complaints? Also I covered the two small test terminals in 
battery compartment (under the main power terminal) with a bit of black 
tape. I did not do any before and after tests though.
