The Leica D100 was basically a re-badged Miranda Dr with a rangefinder (produced by Leica Canada) in place of the standard Miranda pentaprism. One may recall that the Mirandas were called the "poor man's Nikon." The D100 did not sell well because of the difficult gearing between the lens mount and the rangefinder. The Miranda Dr sold a bit better, but one cannot retro-fit the D100 rangefinder onto a Dr. Go figure. The D100 is not rare and may sometimes be found on e-Bay at circa US$55. The rangefinder can be had for ten or twenty bucks, I think Marc Small had one listed about three years ago. As to the lens, it will be remembered that Miranda was one of the early manufacturers to adapt to the old universal T mount. Thus, any T compatible lens, even a contemporary lens such as the redoubtable Sigma 17-35 Aspheric, can be mounted on the D100, however, one must revert to zone focus.
