Subject: [Leica] Allover quality of a lens: corners vs. center

When the new 905 SWC was announced, Kornelius made the point that they saw a
way of improving performance at the edges with only a small compromise at
the center. Are there Leica lenses that are designed that way (clearly, ALL
lenses are designed that way to some extent, so this is a relative claim).
What I would want is a much improved corner performance at all apertures
with a bearable sacrifice at the center.

I use the 19 mm 2.8 and the PC 28mm.

Does anyone know much about this.

Why am I looking for such performance. Often I photograph a building, and
then discover that some crucial detail I want is closer to the edge of the
negative. I want to able to get good results out there. Also, in
enlargements that are big,say 20x, people get close and can see if the edges
are not so good.

Thanks for the help,
Martin
