The only f1 or f1.2 lens is the Noctilux (f1 in the current version), and there is also an f4 lens, the Elmar. What the names mean, I don't know. Whether the Summicron is "best" depends on your requirements. In terms of optical quality, the 35mm Summilux ASPH is as good at f2 as the 35mm Summicron ASPH, but a lot better at f1.4 ;-) You pay a price in terms of money, size and weight. Nathan Richard F.
