I would make sure the autofocus was completely locked (it also has manual focus), and then I'd time the shot. I was really amazed at how well it worked. I was a little nervous having driven 8 hours to get there with only that day to do the shoot. The first couple shots were awful; way after the action. But it worked great. If anyone's interested I can post some of this year's pics (it's happening in a couple weeks). He says it works fine although I have yet to see any results. A year ago I had to take pictures for a stunting (cheerleading) book that my company produced. I had to catch the flyer (cute, small girl) WAAAYYY up in the air doing stunts. It only took me a few pictures to get the "timing" down. Fortunately the camera (C-4040 at the time, now replaced by the C-5050) had a very predictible (and I think shorter than some) lag time. The pictures turned out great. I have to do it again this year with the 5050. This doesn't help for "street photography" maybe, but for action where you can determine beforehand when the action will be, it works. The stunts helped because they were all counted. If the stunt happened on count 7, I'd fire at about 5 and a half. Amazing, but it worked! Very funny, and yes, I understand completely ;-) Regards, Austin - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
