Indeed some such words often continue in general usage long after their original or technical usage has ceased to have meaning. e.g. "george bush and his cohorts in the republican party" (unless he's planning on leading the Roman Legions across the desert... hmm Emperor Bush... okay - maybe that's not a good example... :) ) so better by an "order of magnitude" can also mean "a heck of a lot better" tim PS - and yes, growing up in the house of an engineer, I did know what it meant - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
