DeGaulle sold out the pied-noirs and the French Army, and gave Algeria away. I haven't seen the slides for 40 years, they are stomach turning. believe me. No one believed in peaceful demonstrations in those days. No rubber bullets either. Sort of like in Belfast a while back. Three sides all hating each other.
