It seems substantual in an East German sense of the word. In excellent shape, probably because it doesn't focus correctly. The aperture is printed on both sides of the lens as, like the late jupiter 50's it rotates as you foucs. Very thoughtful. Probably a German copy of a rusky copy of a German design. As you saw in the pics, it has a finish similar to the schaht, that is, black enamel, (I think) with chrome on the high spots of the knurled portions. Not a bad looking lens at all. I shot one frame with it, (last on a roll) and it was way off in focus. I'll try it out using the marks instead of the rangefinder tomorrow. Weighs 14.9 oz. It appears to have two elements, one in front of the iris, and one behind. No surprise there. Just was playing with the iris, and the ring slips. Looks like no bargain, even at $27. Nice paperweight. Certainly not worth colliminating, unless it shows me something in some tests tomorrow. I'll try to get some digi shots of it for you over the weekend if you are interested.
