I'm glad here on the lug we've all been able to get along with our disparate views. It's getting to the point we've all known each other so long. You know the old pice of advice: treat family like friends and friends like family. Explained was we are treating each other like friends. On the states rights issue: I seem to recall in Grammer School civics we learned what "The United States" meant. "United" in effect meant the federal government, centralized government. What the colonialists had gotten too much of at that point. "States" meant "we are governing ourselves we are not just being ruled by a far off entity. (King George) Autonomy, in preferred mode. So these two things were designed to balance each other out. "Balances" being how the whole government was set up. It seems to me it has been a success for the most part. Widely copied.
