Ed., The optic didn't change between last E 43 and E 46. The last version of the 43mm (from 1968) is not rare in black, save the 1913-1983, 70th anniversary. Only the gold (1000) <http://www.aaacamera.com/leica_m42_gold.html>, platinium (1250) (sorry, no link) and chrome (300) <http://www.leica-camera.com/discus_e/messages/2/9183.jpg> are rare.
