As I discussed in the thread "Spot meter in my future?," the faces were a bit overexposed even though I thought I'd compensated. The light was just more contrasty and glaring than I realized. I did as much as I could with the curves, but the faces were on the toe of the curve, so there is some washout of features. In a way, the 1960s "soot and chalk" look matches the gritiness of the music--some really intense avant-garde music by Shostakovich's successors. (How's *that* for rationalization?) :-) M6TTL, 85/2 Nikkor, 1/60 at f/3.5, Neopan 1600 at 1600, developed in Vitamin X 1:3. The musicians are the Seattle Chamber Players, with a couple of guest artists from the Seattle Symphony, plus Russian pianist/composer Ivan Sokolov. I think I like #18 the best, as it captures the intensity of the playing. http://www.2alpha.com/~pklein/dschfest/18ClarTrioWeb2.jpg And the rest: http://www.2alpha.com/~pklein/dschfest/10Sabee_web.jpg http://www.2alpha.com/~pklein/dschfest/12HarpTrio_Web.jpg http://www.2alpha.com/~pklein/dschfest/15HarpTrio_Web.jpg http://www.2alpha.com/~pklein/dschfest/19ClarTrioWeb.jpg http://www.2alpha.com/~pklein/dschfest/21ClarTrioWeb.jpg - --Peter Klein Seattle, WA - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
