I've just looked at some chromes that I took after the bumper fell off and some, not all, have what looks like a light leak on the bottom left hand side - this would correspond to the top right hand side of the camera where the bumper is missing. Time to get some black tape! Sorry for misleading you. Henry I lost one myself when I fell in Bruges and landed on top of the camera (the bruise has almost gone now). It is indeed (on the M6 at least) a press in stud and losing it doesn't seem to have any impact on light leaks. I'm thinking of emailing Leica and asking if it's possible to obtain a replacement - heck they sent me a red dot (i.e. 1 red dot!) to replace my scuffed one a few weeks ago. The right hand black plastic strap bumper came off from my M6. I found it was just riveted onto the top plate. Any idea how I can get it repaired. Is it a DIY job or should I send it back to Leica. Also, this plastic thingy serves no functional purpose other than protecting the top-plate from scuffing, but since its riveted on, does anybody know whether the missing bumper will cause light leaks ? - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
