It sounded just terrible: lifters clanking, rattling timing chain, etc. We asked them when they had last changed the oil and they said they got the oil changed every time they filled up. They had somehow confused topping up the oil with changing the oil. What could we do? We smiled, told them not to worry and closed the hood.
