You know, it's funny, I spoke with my contact at FotoHobby-Rahn in Frankfurt
Germany prior to buying the lens.  They are apparently Leica's largest
European distributor and he assured me that if any warranty related problems
arose Leica would handle the repair as if it were a USA warranty product, or
else (they'd be hearing from the home office).  I've emailed him regarding
the problem and am awaiting his response.  We'll see.

The situation at Leica NJ is that according to them they do not repair 3E's
any longer.

Great camera......pathetically stupid company, at least in the US.
