I have encountered one problem, and I do not know if it was the chicken (motor) or the egg (camera). Last Friday night, the camera stopped dead. I opened the camera to see if there was a film jam, but all seemed well. I thought it might be low battery, I changed batteries, and noticed that the motor made the right noises. I put it back on, and everything functioned. Then I noticed the frame counter was not moving. I emailed John Collier about his ideas, and he explained the problem was a broken plastic gear in the counter mechanism; that it is not an expensive repair and I might get it done the next time it is in for a CLA . I've only shot about two thousand rolls of film since it was last in the hands of Ken Ruth, so maybe it is time to give it up for a short while. I've only shot maybe 50 rolls with the motor drive, but I do love it. I've never been as happy with a camera as I am with this combination, and I've been shooting M's for about 15 years and Leicas for more than twice that. Again, I have no clue as to whether the drive caused the problem, or if it was just time for it to break. Anyhow, aside from the film counter, the camera is working just fine.
