"I posted that these were on their way a few days ago --- and just saw
one 2 days ago. Says Test Camera on it as well. The Flag is a 'baked' on

for bigger dealers in other countries (like 75 Canadian, 10 Mexican, 20
French, 1 Luxembourg) but my dealer is keeping his. They are supposed to be
used as demo units. I asked him to try and get me a British or Italian one,
as they cost the same, but "NO WAY!" --- so -- next time you cash out at the
grocery or hardware store, look for those little stick on 2cm x 3cm flags
and just stick one to your top plate! :-)
Now, all they need to do is have it play a symphonic version of the
national anthem for that country when you look through the finder. Imagine
hearing 'Rule Britannia' when you lift the Brit version!"

I believe I posted the news about one month ago that Solms was issuing a world-wide
series of flag-emblazoned M7 demo cameras, in each country where there is a Leica
agency.
These are NOT special editions in the normal sense -- except for the Canadian version
which commemorates 50 years since the founding of E. Leitz Canada (home of ELCAN);
just 50 Canadian Maple Leaf cameras were made and they come with special
commemorative documentation.
All of these flagged demos are priced by dealers (that is, by those who have enough
to sell -- at least one is supposed to be retained as an in-store demo) the same as
standard M7 cameras.

Dunno why I even bothered typing the above, actually, since the LUG is currently
engaged in a debate about US police powers of arrest.

BTW, the British national anthem is God Save the Queen, not Rule Britannia. For those
outside the US who are yet unaware, the US national anthem is The Star Spangled
Banner, not God Bless America. And Canada's song is O Canada, not the Molson Canadian
song nor I'm A Lumberjack by Monty Python.
