Hence, I have to cheat a little and post a couple of pictures taken in mid-October when I was in Denmark. Riva is in her early 70s. She and her husband were part of a big wave of Soviet Jews who emigrated to the West in the 1970s during the first period of detente, in their case from the then Soviet Republic of Ukraine to Denmark. They and my parents became friends, and have remained so for 30 years. Riva and her husband have been particularly supportive towards my father since my mother died in April 2001, and I am always grateful that he has such good friends who are always there for him. So, whenever I am in Copenhagen, I always make sure that we get together with them. Riva is very outgoing and like most Eastern Europeans likes a drink. The two pictures are from a nice evening at my father's apartment in Copenhagen: http://www.wajsman.com/2002_48.jpg http://www.wajsman.com/2002_48alt1.jpg Both taken with Bessa R2, 35mm Summilux ASPH, on Ilford Delta 3200. The complete PAW index is at: http://www.wajsman.com/indexpaw2002.htm and comments and critique are always welcome.
