The other nice thing about the router is it makes my network pretty much invisible to hackers. I've gone to most of the test sites and I'm invisible. The router is connected to a Flowpoint Internet Gateway provided by my ISP. My problem seems to be with the SMC, for some reason it locks up or disconnects and the only way to get back to the network is a cold reboot. As soon as I reboot all is well. Friend of mine says it's probably because I leave things running 24/7 but I don't buy that. I think it's a problem and need to make time to call SMC and get their opinion. That said, recently, the performance has sometimes been no better than dial-up. Apparently, my provider has had problems with its proxy servers. I reboot my router (DLINK) and cable modem (Motorola Surfboard) occasionally, and this can improve performance. This is a standard 'fix everything' from the support guys. Usually they are quite good. They are always helpful (when you can get through), but they don't always know their ARP from their elbow. On of their senior tech did give me the URL of a site that can help troubleshoot problems on the Net. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the service from NTLWorld. Just out of interest, what sort of router are you using Sam?
