They are indeed gorgeous, stunning examples of the school of informal, romanticized, wedding photography, and Rob should be really proud of them. But the "Leica way?" They could have been shot - from the point of view of the photographer's functioning, or from the point of view of quality, with ANY reasonably portable camera system. We're not talking low light. We're not talking need for silent, unobtrusive shooting. Etc. Leicas are great. But how about a bit of realism in the discussion. ;-) - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us] On Behalf Of Fred Sears Sent: Tuesday, November 12, 2002 9:16 AM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: RE: [Leica] Last weekends Wedding - 100% Leica phenomenal stuff indeed...the real "Leica way"... - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us]On Behalf Of Rob Heyman Sent: Tuesday, November 12, 2002 8:12 AM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: [Leica] Last weekends Wedding - 100% Leica Hi troops.......... I have just completed a session on Photoshop converting last Sunday's wedding to finished proofs. About 250 shots meant that it has taken the best part of four hours to make all the enhancements and to crop, manipulate and resize them. The negs were processed and scanned on a Fuji Frontier machine yesterday, I collected them from the lab first thing this morning and will have them back to the Frontier to print the proofs tomorrow. They will probably be printed while I wait. The bride and groom will be in on Thursday to plan their album and fly home to Melbourne on Thurs night. Why do I say all this? Because even with a digital camera I would save only one day and I have the added security of having film AND a digital file. I have posted four shots from the wedding at: http://www.leica-gallery.net/heymanphoto/folder-3503.html and would welcome comments. Just for interests sake, this is a link to the lab I use. Probably not much use to the great majority of you, but he does a great job for those of us in Brisbane. http://www.frontierdigital.com.au/ Rob __________________________________ Rob Heyman M.Photog 32 Binyara Street CHAPEL HILL Qld 4069 Ph 07 3878 3884 fax 07 3378 6639 __________________________________ - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
