with almost as much time making photos as Ted, I first made news photos in
1955-56, I have read this good discussion and will add just one more remark;
call it anything you wish, when as a photographer you push the button you
have made a decision.  What you hope is as B.D. said, at best it is
fair...you know it has bias as to what you brought to that moment, we all
hope the photographer, creator of image,  is not mindless without
understanding.  How the image is used is another question and many times we
as makers of images do not have control over the end use.
