The heron was in a pond at a local nature reserve, in the shade of several trees. The only light on the bird was sunlight filtered through the trees, with a bit more light from the sky; a pronounced blue/green color cast. The SL's meter called for a 1/15 sec shutter speed (at f/5.6) but I deliberately under-exposed by one stop to reduce the risk of camera and subject motion (BTW, the original slide and the full-sized scan have considerably more detail than shows here). - -- To unsubscribe, see http://mejac.palo-alto.ca.us/leica-users/unsub.html
