My favorites are the Canon 85f2 Serenar (a Sonnar clone)and the 100mm f/3.5 black/chrome Canon. For portraits the early 100mm f4 Canon Serenar (similar to a 90f4 Elmar) is nice. And the late model 100f3.5 Black is tack sharp, compact and light weight. Any one of these lenses can be had for less than $200 each. Best wishes, Mike Date: Tue, 22 Oct 2002 19:07:04 -0700 From: "SML" <leirex@access4less.net> Subject: Re: [Leica] 90mm lenses -- Summicron or Elmarit? I do have and used both of them to my great surprising satisfaction. I would say that these two are as good as the Nikon 85 and 105 if not better. Some users even claim that the Canon 100/2 is quite a lot better than the contemporary 90/2 Summicron. Any in-depth but not opinionated opinion on this?
